Silage film has become a new trend, how to choose the right style? With numerous options available, focus on these key factors:
UV resistant:Silage bales are exposed to sunlight for months. For example, our high-quality wrap can contain effective UV stabilizers to prevent the plastic from becoming brittle and cracking, which allows oxygen in and ruins the silage. It will protect your silage from oxygen for up to ONE year.
Thickness (Microns): Thicker wraps (typically 23-30 microns) offer superior puncture resistance against stems, twigs, and handling, and provide a better oxygen barrier. Our most popular thickness is 25um, and different thicknesses can also be customized
Cling quality & atretch: The film must cling tightly to itself and the bale surface. Excellent cling eliminates air pockets when layers overlap during wrapping. SSS packaging minimizes wrinkles through which air can penetrate. Makes the whole package fit perfectly.
Number of layers: Generally, 6 layers are considered the minimum for effective preservation over 6-12 months. For longer storage, harsh climates, or higher dry matter forage, 8 layers provide a significantly stronger oxygen barrier and enhanced durability. Our silage film does not compromise on the number of layers
Colors: White and green are popular (reflect sunlight to reduce surface heating and potential spoilage), please consider your climate - lighter colors reflect more heat. We have many colors to choose from
Recycle material: Make your choice based on the environmental protection policy of your location. Our wraps are made of recyclable materials and are degradable without pressure.
SSS agripackaging's silage wrap can last for more than one year under normal use, and their tensile strength has been professionally tested and is very strong.
